Simon read Law at Cambridge before becoming a trainee Director at the King’s Head, Islington. As Director shows include Slag (Finborough), Desires of Frankenstein (Regent’s Park and Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh), Stress (Hen & Chickens Theatre) as well as numerous readings and workshops for various new writing companies, including the International Playwriting Festival and Writing Out! Awards.
 
As Assistant Director he has worked on 9 productions of the West End hit Art, as well as Credible Witness (Royal Court) and the UK tour of Blues Brothers. As Resident Assistant Director for the 2001 season at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, he worked on Midsummer Night’s Dream, Loves Labours Lost, Where’s Charley? and Pirates of Penzance.
